6th Edition – Intercollege Short Film Competition 2022 – ‘’Lamour pou lanvironnman’’

After the success of the Intercollege Short Film Competition since 2016, the MFDC has now decided to embark younger students in this adventure through the Inter Primary School Short Film Competition. The MFDC is now coming with  the 1st Edition of the Inter Primary School Short Film Competition 2022 with the theme ‘’Lamour pou lafami’’.  As rightly said by Mahatma Gandhi: “Where there is love, there is life’’. This Film Competition is designed to give young students of  primary schools a chance, through their stories and perspective to show love in its different form, while discovering creativity and enhancing their artistic skills.

The deadline for submission of  registration form to participate in  Intercollege short film competition has been postponed to 5th May 2022

The Mauritius Film Development Corporation in collaboration with Gopio International is launching the short film competition on the theme ’our roots journey to now’’.

 

Calling for project proposals funded under the ACP/EU Culture Fund

This is a calling for project proposals which may be funded under the ACP/EU Culture Fund which is part of the reinforcement of cultural sectors in the ACP regions. The support is mainly for the audio visual sector. 

The projects to be funded will be under a ceiling amount of 40 M Euros over the period 2019 to 2026. An initiative by the CNC, OIF, World Cinema Fund.

After the remarkable success of the Editions of the Intercollege Film Competition since 2016, the MFDC is now launching the year 2021 Edition of the Intercollege Film Competition on GBV. This project will be implemented in collaboration with the CDM and FEMNET.  

 

This film Competition is designed to give young students a chance, through their stories and perspective, help the country to fight against GBV, while discovering and enhancing their skills as scriptwriters, filmmakers, actors, editors.

Pourquoi ?
L’Union européenne (UE) en partenariat avec l’Organisation des États d’Afrique, des Caraïbes et du Pacifique (OEACP) souhaite, à travers le Programme ACP UE Culture, développer une industrie culturelle viable et durable dans les pays ACP.
Le soutien octroyé au travers de cet appel vise à financer les coproductions audiovisuelles ACP, ainsi qu’à améliorer les conditions de création et de production des œuvres, à renforcer les capacités du secteur, à permettre un accès accru et une meilleure circulation des œuvres produites sur les marchés nationaux, régionaux et internationaux grâce à la coproduction ACP-UE.

Comment ?
Le présent appel permettra de sélectionner et de subventionner des fonds existants de soutien au secteur audiovisuel, qui auront pour activité principale de lancer, ensuite, des appels pour octroyer des subsides à des porteurs de projet sur le terrain. Ils accompagneront également les opérateurs de terrain avec des activités de renforcement des capacités.

L’enveloppe de € 4 150 000, viendra s’ajouter aux financements que ces fonds sélectionnés octroient habituellement sur le terrain via leurs appels à propositions. Cette approche décentralisée facilite ainsi, pour les opérateurs, l’accès à un financement conjoint (soutien classique des fonds de coproduction, complété par un « bonus » du Programme ACP-UE Culture.
Ce système de financement en cascade couvrira la coproduction d’œuvres cinématographiques et audiovisuelles, y compris la phase de post-production. Toutes les durées, formats et genres seront acceptés : courts métrages, longs métrages, séries TV, contenus et mini-séries Web, fiction, animation, documentaire, réalité virtuelle, 3D et jeux vidéos, etc.

Participation 
En termes de modalités de participation, les soumissionnaires agiront en consortium d’au moins deux organisations, avec une représentation ACP égale ou majoritaire. Les consortiums pourront solliciter un montant minimum de € 1 037 500 ou maximum  de € 2 075 000, constituant un pourcentage maximal de 80% du total des coûts éligibles de l’action.

Les propositions seront admissibles jusqu’à la date du 31 mai 2021, à 16 heures (CET).

7 Day Challenge 2020 – 6th Edition

Further to the success of the 1st, 2nd ,3rd, 4th and 5th Editions of the 7 Day challenge, the Mauritius Film Development Corporation is launching the 6th Edition of the 7 Day challenge 2020. 

Filmmakers will have to produce a short film in Seven (7) days. The basic idea of the 7 Day Challenge Competition 2020 is – to write, produce and edit a short film in just one week using an assigned genre and theme given by the MFDC.
