You asked, and we’re ready to reveal more!
The Mauritius Film Development Corporation (MFDC) and MCine – Mont Ida Entertainments Ltd have joined forces to bring more cinema opportunities to the public and create more platforms for Mauritian films and filmmakers.
So, what’s coming?

We are working towards dedicated cinema experiences for senior citizens, children and audiences with accessibility needs, including preferential ticket rates for eligible audiences, subject to the terms of each screening.**
Because cinema should be accessible to everyone.
As MFDC celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year, get ready for a week-long celebration of cinema! Including preferential ticket rates**
The programme will feature a diverse selection of films, including:
A chance to come together, enjoy the big screen and celebrate our love for cinema.
The collaboration will also create opportunities for Mauritian filmmakers and producers to bring their work to cinema audiences through:
Where local films are considered, opportunities will be managed through appropriate, transparent and merit-based selection processes, based on the objectives and criteria of each programme.**
The collaboration can also open the door to film-related initiatives with embassies, institutions and other partners, making use of MCine’s cinema spaces where appropriate.
The bigger objective?
Connect filmmaking with audiences.
Because supporting Mauritian filmmakers is only one part of building a stronger film industry. We also need to create opportunities for audiences to discover, experience and support Mauritian cinema.

And this is just the beginning…
MFDC × MCine – Stronger Together. Brighter Future.
